Well, either way it’s really not very plausible because it’s a semi-autobiographical grandeur delusion of mine that involves space shuttles and space travel, the purchasing and burning down (or use of explosives) of certain memorable private properties (and hopefully historically significant places), Ellen Page (who will play two characters: a truck driver in one universe and an Objectivist in another universe whose name is also the ‘constant’, the ‘anti-thesis’, the ananda or glue the holds all universes together), Ryan Gosling (who will play my character, obviously, who ideally needs to stop turning people into metaphors and then gets run over by a truck but the only way to be saved is to go to another dimension and be with the constant [like in season 5 or 6 of Lost] or else all universes will fall apart), and will also involve many other hot hollywood actresses like Gloria Vistosis, Maggie Grace, Anne Hathaway (she enjoys showing stuff I enjoy nowadays), Zooey Deschanel (even if she sold out on New Girl) and many others. It will also involve a lot of consultants like physicists and other scientists like that guy with white hair who can ice skate in the BBC documentary “Parallel Universe” (because it involves time and inter-dimensional travel and other awesome stuff). Donny Yount will be assigned to create the OBB and then the actual real posters and print ads (because this is just concept) will be made by the Phunk Studio guys in Singapore.

I actually came from two production shoots and worked as a volunteer PA and so I haven’t really had decent sleep in 2 or 3 days (I can’t even count anymore). But the story is in my head. So yes. C’est la vie.

I really want this to be very attractive to my readers and to potential people I’ll be able to convince to side with me on limiting the powers and spending of the state. I put a Philippine flag, that’s always a good thing. I put three main selling points: economic freedom, individual liberty and free society (which are of course the gist of what I believe would make the world more peaceful and prosperous). Plus, a moving quote that I feel represents who I am and the content of my blog.

Tweaked Beating the Search Engine a bit as well. For both blogs, I lessened the prominence of ads. Since I don’t earn as much from these blogs anyways plus there’s The Social Network stigma of “ads aren’t cool”. People don’t like it, I’ve noticed, when you are very direct about doing something for the sake of profit.

I also made the texts of both blogs bigger than before. I noticed that blogs like Thought Catalog or Cracked have large texts and I was thinking it could be some sort of attention span issue (aside of course from some of their content that’s actually good).

I’m also going to be focusing more on content, like really be in the zone, really develop the writer inside me to be effective and innovative .

I have two lives now. One in the real, physical world. Another, in cyberspace, a digital dimension, a virtual reality of sorts. Yes, I am a human being, but I have also become partly machine.

It’s an attempt to breakaway from the typical, traditional, what you see is what you get magazine covers I usually see. No pages, no headlines. Probably just fragments of concepts and ideas within the the magazine—the medium; the bearer of information. Won’t be as effective, I agree, but definitely more intriguing and mysterious. Abstract, relative, experiential.

Surely it’s typo. It’s just annoying how all the supposed creative geniuses at Google shows little interest in people like me. I mean, the payment schedule isn’t really hard to understand. It’s just that the way they tell beginners like me about it is not really as effective in my opinion. There’s really a lot of problems about the user-friendliness of anything related to Google Adsense. Impatient as I already am, all this is just really adding to it. I should stay positive, I know, it’s passive income. It’s just that I’ve reached the payment threshold early January and I’ve really just been so impatient with it. I guess there’s that part of me that just wants to prove something, you know? The faithlessness of some people is saddening, of course, especially those I consider close to my heart. I’ve just been waiting for this for every single day of this month. It’s supposedly just $112, small amount for some of you, I am sure. But it’s not entirely about the money. It’s something I’m hoping I could be proud of.

I actually had to  wake up early and bring my car to Honda for the 1 year/20,000 km check up (maybe this is adding to my negative mood). Turns out there’s a recall for a certain part of it. Supposedly it will eventually make some engine noise in the future if they do not change a certain spring of some sort. There’s a good chance though that they might not be giving the full details of the recall to avoid panic and loss of sales. So I dropped my car in Honda and had to walk home.

Not to mention the cold weather seem to have passed and it’s back to the typical bright and burning sunny days. I am dehydrated and sleepless. There is this song playing in my head that won’t go away. All of it seemingly killing the dream. But the dream cannot die. The dream is eternal and inevitable just as the prophecy foretold. The dream will one day save me in that moment when I fear that all hope is lost. The only reason I sometimes doubt it is because I have not fully grasped the significance and magnitude of the gift that I possess. </delusions of grandeur>

My instrument-playing skills are actually very limited. There is so much music and ideas in my head that I can’t really express because of these limitations. For instance, I can’t pull off insane guitar solos or complex drum rudiments (I don’t even have my own drum set). This is where music creating software can really help broaden my musical creativity. Having a good Digital Audio Workstation (software used to make music), is like having your own orchestra at your fingertips. The possibilities are truly limitless.

Many years ago, my first real encounter with computer mediated music production would be with recording using Adobe Audition. The older version that I used was actually very decent. It was full of effects that I could experiment with such as reverb, flanger, phaser, chorus, delay, etc. So even if all I had was an acoustic guitar, it really gave me more possibilities with what I can do and helped me understand and learn more about different audio effects. It’s a shame that my first recordings are actually all gone now. My iPod broke and Imeem closed down. Those were the only places that I had put my first recordings.

Since all I had was an acoustic guitar, I often looked for drum beats that I can jam to or record over. Until eventually I ended up downloading Sony Acid Pro, a loop-based music production software. This was back in high school, during a time when I started expressing interest in house music. But of course, I wasn’t satisfied with just putting together loops that I didn’t create.

And so I ended up with FL Studio, which back then was still called “fruity loops” if I remember correctly. This, I believe, was a very powerful software that comes with numerous instruments, synthesizers, effects, and many other things.

Eventually, I ended up with Ableton Live, the one I fell in love with. The time-warp function just opened a lot of possibilities for me most especially with remixing and manipulating audio. Even when I came across seemingly more powerful software such as Cubase 4 or Propellerhead Reason, Ableton Live remained to be closest to my heart. The ease of use is what I love with it. I just really enjoy the interface. It makes music creation very natural. It is called “Live” because it is as if you can make music in real-time and this adds a sense of performance to it. One of my first creations with it would be my remix of Born Slippy by Underworld, which really got a lot of good feedback.

Most of the music I’ve made that you can find in the music section of this portfolio or in my YouTube account are made using Ableton Live.  Of course, by now I’ve collected a lot of decent VST instruments and other plug-ins, but still I am loyal to the old packs that came with Ableton Live 6, the first version I used.

Imagine, when I started I was just recording stuff from my crappy acoustic guitar and now I have evolved to someone who makes his own electronic music. I have delved into the worlds of IDM, dubstep, drum and bass, triphop, breakbeat, downtempo, trance, house, and even made a handful of enjoyable remixes.

I haven’t really updated this portfolio and many of my recent works can be found in my Facebook account. Feel free to connect with me there if you want but of course eventually I will be uploading them here as well.

I figured I should stop blogging here about how I dislike work and start blogging about my skills and how I have acquired them. It is a creative portfolio after all. So expect more skill-oriented and less personal blog entries here. I hope you learned a thing or two and that I have encouraged you to try out some of the softwares here.

The thirst for making music can never be quenched. Society will force to recruit you into their monotonous routines and methods of “education” and yet deep inside you will always hear that beat that never dies. The whole world is your instrument. Make your own kind of music.

My beloved film camera has been in a coma for a while now and I don’t really have the funds for her cure. I’ve just been craving film. Digital is starting to make me want to puke. I just miss the grain and the organic colors and the full frame and the overall experience.

If you don’t know, I actually didn’t buy my film camera. I did not choose her; it is the camera that chose me. Sort of like Harry Potter’s wand.

I’ve just been sound tripping. My Christmas experience isn’t really that festive so yeah. One of the songs I’ve been playing is this song that used to play in the office during my internship. I remembered it because of the “I’m so sensitive to light” part cause I’m actually pretty sensitive to light.

I’ve also been listening to some old 311, the transistor album. It is surely their trippiest album. The song “transistor” and “color” used be my ring tone before (random trivia).
